MAINTAINING THE CEDAR HOT TUB

Colonial Hot Tubs are made of Canadian Heart Cedar which has natural anti-bacterial and anti-decay properties, and are known to last up to 30 years if maintained properly.

Your tub exterior is stained in your preferred colour using CD-50, a high quality and trusted stain. This will only need a fresh coat applied every few years. As wood is a natural material it will require a little attention but nothing more than a couple of hours per year.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does the timber last?

At least 15 years and probably longer if hot tub maintenance is done regularly. Many wine barrels have lasted 30 years or more.

Does the hot tub timber get slimy?

Hot Tub timber gets slimy when there is a chemical imbalance in the water or if there has been excessive quantities of chlorine used. As long as you do five minutes of chemical maintenance weekly you will have no problems.

What kind of hot tub maintenance is required?

A few minutes a week is all it takes to test the water and adjust the chemical balance. The filter cartridge should be washed every month. The Hot Tub water should be changed every 2–3 months depending on usage. A water change is the perfect time to give the Hot Tub walls a sponge or light scrub.

Is chemical maintenance simple?

Yes. A test strip dipped into the water for a few seconds indicates what chemicals need adding.

How much do hot tubs cost to run?

$3–4 per day depending on power cost at source.

Where is the best placement for a hot tub?

People have them next to swimming pools, in conservatories or gazebos, in bush or gardens, indoors or out. Partially or wholly set in decks with steps built up to them or deck built around them, on the edge of a deck or freestanding on patios. It really depends on your site and imagination. The only consideration is to have a concrete pad, solid deck or floor as a foundation.

What kind of delivery time can I expect after placing an order?

Expect hot tub delivery within 14 days of receipt of deposit, although this is subject to outstanding orders and material availability.
