COLONIAL HOT TUB CONSTRUCTION
Time Proven Construction Methods
Our Cedar Hot Tubs are handcrafted using the traditional method of Coopering, a highly specialised process that involves handcrafting vertical timber staves together to form a watertight seal.
This method is well known for producing Oak barrels for the aging of wine. Instead of Oak, Colonial Hot Tubs use PEFC certified Canadian Heart Cedar which has natural anti-mould and anti-decay properties giving the hot tub a longer life.
The result is an excellent seal and a distinctive, natural look of timber combined with the galvanised steel bands used to hold the hot tub together. Gold plating or powder coating of the bands is an optional extra.
This construction method eliminates the need for any glues in production. The Hot Tub interiors, seating and fittings are sanded by hand to a smooth finish. The Tub exterior is coated with a custom stain to protect the wood and highlight the grain.
Tanalised bearers are fixed under the Tub to support the weight. Colonial Hot Tubs can be installed in most environments, if you have an enquiry please contact us.
